Paris Attacks: Facebook 'Safety Check'

 

1114-main-facebook-checking-01Facebook activated its "Safety Check" tool for users in Paris Friday night,  to let friends and family members know they were OK.
The feature had been used only 4 times  -- for natural disasters -- allowing users to "check-in" as safe, sending notification to friends.
A Facebook rep said, "People turn to Facebook to check on loved ones and get updates which is why we created Safety Check and why we have activated it today for people in Paris."
