Woman killed her 3 sons because her Husband loved them more
A woman calmly called 911 to report her baby son wasn't breathing on Tuesday and then hours later confessed to killing him and her two other young sons over the past several months because her husband ignored their daughter, authorities said. Brittany Pilkington was charged with three counts of murder and was jailed, said police in Columbus. Pilkington is accused in Tuesday's death of 3-month-old Noah and in the deaths of 4-year-old Gavin, who died in April, and 3-month-old Niall, who died in July 2014. No working telephone number for the family's home could be found, and no attorney information was available for the mother. Police said officers went to the family's apartment on Tuesday morning after an emergency call from the mother saying Noah wasn't breathing. Buhari: Orders Federal Ministries and Agencies to Open Treasury Single Account President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered each and every Federal Government Ministry, Department or Agency to start paying into a Treasury Single Account (TSA) for all government revenues, incomes and other receipts. According to the directive, this measure is specifically to promote transparency and facilitate compliance with sections 80 and 162 of the 1999 Constitution. Police: Woman whose shooting by officer was captured on video is in stable condition WASHINGTON (AP) — A woman was reported in stable condition after being shot by a police officer in northeast Washington after allegedly refusing to drop a knife. Metropolitan Police Department Cmdr. David Taylor said Saturday night that police were called to Clay Terrace, about 9 miles east of the White House, at about 6:15 p.m. for a report of fire. Responding officers were confronted by a woman holding at least one knife, he said. She was told to drop the weapon but did not comply and was shot once in the upper body as she advanced, Taylor said. The woman was taken to the hospital, Taylor said, and was reported in stable condition. Active military-grade grenade found outside Maryland McDonald's THURMONT, Md. – An active military-grade hand grenade was uncovered Saturday afternoon in the parking lot outside a Maryland McDonald's. The Frederick News-Post reports a bomb technician with the Office of the State Marshal secured and removed the active grenade. Dale Ednock, the bomb technician, told the News-Post the grenade found lodged about a foot under the pavement was there for quite some time. Ednock said it was likely a relic of the military base located in Thurmont, about 65 miles northwest of Baltimore, several decades ago. Ednock said if the grenade had gone off, anyone in the vicinity could have suffered severe injuries, or death. The grenade was found about 1 p.m. by a landscaping crew. Customers and employees were evacuated, and roads in all directions were shut down.

World Bank released the first tranche of funding to Nigerian Universities The World Bank has released the first tranche of funding totalling N1.4 billion to facilitate the take off of 10 African Centres of Excellence in Nigerian universities. The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Julius Okojie, who disclosed this at a press conference on Monday in Abuja, said the money was released to 10 out of the 19 centres. He said the centres are expected to embark on various research works to help solve problems confronting the African continent. He explained that the centres would focus their research on various fields, namely agriculture, health, science and technology, engineering and mathematics.
